Texas Floods, American Hero's, and 4th of July

Don't miss these uplifting heroic stories.

Dear Reader,

This has been a week for the history books.

From the celebration of America’s freedom, to devastating floods in texas, we find hope, joy and local hero’s all around us.

This week I wanted to jump into more serious issues, that highlight individual heroic actions that inspire me to do better and look for change in my community and life.

1. 🇺🇸 “Free America Weekend” rallies spark 300 local protests

Across the U.S., more than 300 community-led protests took place over the Fourth of July weekend under the banner “Free America Weekend” or “No Kings 2.0.” Sponsored by Indivisible, Women’s March, and 50501 movement, the gatherings blended patriotism with activism—raising voices on democracy, equity, and local issues. Cities including Tulsa, Miami, Chicago suburbs, and New York saw hundreds attending and building community through civic engagement

It was truly inspiring to see our communities band together on the founding principles of our nation. No Kings. Everyone has a voice.

2. 🌊 Central Texas flood shelters rally with solidarity

After the catastrophic flash floods in Kerr County over July 4, The Salvation Army deployed Emergency Disaster Services in Kerrville, providing meals, shelter, and support. Thousands of volunteers, including from faith groups and nonprofits like Operation Airdrop, Samaritan’s Purse, and World Central Kitchen, mobilized to assist displaced families
